FAQ

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHY ARE PHOTOGRAPHS REPRODUCED BY THE LAMBDA METHOD SO SPECIAL?

Exposure on lambda devices allowed to break all barriers between the quality of classic prints obtained in the darkroom process and the precision of digital printing.
The process of chemical treatment of the image is exactly the same as in case of traditional silver-technique photography and provides the same quality.

WHAT DOES A LIMITED EDITION MEAN?

Limited editions are signed by the author of the photograph who specifies a finite number of photographs which will ever be created in a given format. A customer buying a photograph, e.g. which is the 6th out of 12, buys the 6th print from a series of 12 that are created, and the creators watch over the production process by approving the sample prints, and – in accordance with the guidelines – the whole series is made.At Dreamandart, each limited work is accompanied by a certificate with a stamp and the number of work in the series, and the author's signature.

CAN I ORDER ONLINE AND PICK UP MY ORDER IN PERSON?

Yes, you can order the work on Dreamandart's website and, after making a prepayment, personally pick it up at the following address: Kraków, Sielska Street 14a/b

WHAT SERVICE IS PROVIDED WHEN ORDERING A LARGER NUMBER OF WORKS?

When ordering a larger number of works, you can individually agree the shipping costs, and in the case of collective orders, we also provide the curator service which involves the selection, delivery, and hanging the works in the specified location.

IS IT NECESSARY TO ORDER FRAMED WORKS?

Our offer provides the possibility to order unframed works, which are reproduced by means of the lambda method with a 5 mm margin on each side allowing individual framing.

HOW ARE WORKS PACKED FOR SHIPPING?

Unframed works are packed in special tubes with parchment protecting the face of the photograph. Light works are packed in foam, multi-layered cardboard, and stretch foil. Framed and glassed works are packed in special boxes filled with foam enabling safe transport (the cost of the box will be added to the cost of transportation). Under special orders, we organise a separate dedicated transport (Europe).

WHAT DOES THE "DESIGNER FRAME" EXPRESSION MEAN?

Frames sold together with photographs are our own projects, mostly designed by Ms Agnieszka Szultk – an architect and designer (author, inter alia, of the building of the museum of documentation of the art of Tadeusz Kantor – Cricoteka in Kraków; www.szultk-architecture.com).We also design frames under special orders.

WHAT HAPPENS IF A LIMITED EDITION WORK IS DAMAGED IN TRANSPORT?

If a limited edition work is damaged in transport, it is destroyed in the presence of a commission and replaced by a reproduced photograph with the same number from the same series as the damaged work which is provided to the client. The basis for the execution of the procedure is a report drawn up with the courier on the condition of the delivered work.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE AFTER PLACING THE ORDER AND PAYMENT FOR THE WORK TO BE DELIVERED?

This normally takes between 2-4 weeks depending on the type of work and frame.

CAN WE MONITOR THE SHIPMENT?

We use the UPS  service and after providing the parcel to the courier you can track the shipment on the website.

IS IT POSSIBLE NOT TO ACCEPT AN ORDERED WORK?

Works ordered at Dreamandart are made to order and, pursuant to the applicable provisions of law, it is not possible to return them if they do not show any defects.

WHAT ARE THE SHIPPING COSTS?

Shipping costs include the preparation of a work for shipment: packaging, securing, and shipment with an authorised courier.
